But, really, who doesn’t love chocolate cake?
Having a mom (now 98 by the way) who is what I would call a “classic Leo woman”, I can tell you that Leo ladies do love their cocoa. Dark. Milk. White. Any way they can get it!
This recipe is great for any Fire Sign who happens to have a taste for chocolate. It combines rich chocolate, a dash of nutty almond or coconut, with a burst of heat from red pepper that makes it special.
You can turn the spice-factor dial up or down as per your own taste, but, if you have plenty of Fire Signs in your Natal Chart – you might not want to.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all cake ingredients, except the chocolate chips, in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes or until smooth. Now stir in the chocolate chips.
Spoon the batter into the pan or cups you’ve prepared. Bake for 45 minutes for a bundt or 8 x11 inch cake, 20 minutes for cupcakes or muffins, and also 20 to 25 minutes for layer cake pans.
Note: To make waffles, follow the usual method for your waffle iron. (Awesome for Sunday Brunch)
Allow your cake to cook completely. Then opt for one of these:
Frosting – Blend all frosting ingredients together and spread on your cake. You can garnish it with shaved chocolate and a whole cayenne pepper to make it beautifully appealing.
Whipped cream topping Whip cream in a chilled bowl, adding any sugar used at that time. Cream should be stiff but still fluffy when ready. Add the Tia Maria and blend in last. Using berries here is an excellent choice as both a garnish and in-between layers as well.
After topping your cake, add chopped candied red peppers.
